Bat House

Description

Bats have lost many nesting cavities over the past decades when houses were insulated and old trees felled. Any new cavity is therefore welcome for them.

Bats are extremely loyal to their homes and return to the same location for many years. Therefore, once the house is occupied, we do not recommend moving it.

Bats are protected animals, so do not disturb them in the house by opening the door.

The opening front panel allows easy cleaning of the bat house in winter – only when the house is not occupied by them. However, cleaning is not necessary. The Bat house can be used by several species of bats as a daily shelter and as a breeding ground.

Recommended location: ideally at least 2.5 meters above the ground and there must be a free entry area in front of the bat house (bats do not fly through tree branches). If possible, place the bat house on the SE – SW wall. Bats like heat.
